What do you get when you win a canvas print voucher and turn it into a surprise gift?

Two very happy children is the answer to that one!!

This story started a few months ago when I donated a prize to Womenz, http://www.womenz.co.nz , which is an online women’s network founded by Katrina Winn. I donated a canvas print voucher for a competition featured on the website. Women from all over New Zealand had to enter their details in the draw to be in with a chance of winning ……  Janet was the lucky winner and received an A3 canvas print gift voucher.

The win was well timed as the family had a trip planned to Orewa so Janet’s master plan was to take some shots of the kids while they were away. The surprise was to have the photo printed onto canvas for the children so they would remember the great holiday they had had.

I would have loved to have been there when the children opened their surprise gift as Janet had asked me to address the parcel to them so they would open it.

I think this was a great shot and really shows the bond between brother and sister. The colours were fab as the background is quite muted and makes the children stand out to really capture the moment.

Janet’s plan worked, picture the scene:

Hi Tracey, thank you so much for the canvas.  I had Josiah and Sylvana open the package and they were really excited because I didn’t tell them what it was.  They were really surprised when they saw themselves on the canvas.  It’s beautiful and it’s now on our wall in the lounge.  Thank you for this - it’s BEAUTIFUL!!!
